Building renewable energy projects for a low carbon Canadian future

Canada aims to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050. Our mission is to support this effort by leveraging our 35+ years of experience in the renewable energy industry to acquire, develop, and operate wind, solar, hydro or energy storage assets across the country for our investors and partners.

The renewable energy landscape in Canada is evolving:

  • In 2023, wind, solar and energy storage sectors grew by 11.2%, adding 2.3 GW of new installed capacity

  • Total installed capacity has reached 21.9 GW of wind energy, solar energy and energy storage across the country

Canada is well-positioned to continue its renewable energy growth:

  • The federal government recently passed legislation for an investment tax credit up to 30% for capital invested in the adoption and operation of renewable energy

  • Canada has abundant renewable energy resources, an innovative and skilled workforce, and a strong supportive financial sector

Our Expertise

Ven Renewables has over 35 years of collective experience in the Canadian renewable energy market, including wind, hydro, solar and battery storage. Our expertise spans across project development, business development, engineering, construction, asset management and acquisitions of over 2,000 megawatts of projects.

Success in building sustainable developments starts with relationships. We believe putting the people we collaborate with first – local communities, First Nations, landowners and any additional key stakeholders – is the pathway towards meaningful economic and social returns for all parties involved.

  • Our team has developed projects through site selection, resource & layout designs, stakeholder engagements, financial evaluations, investment approvals, equipment procurement, interconnection processes, permitting all the way to construction.

  • Our experience includes market analysis, forming strategic partnerships, securing financing, navigating regulatory landscapes and acquiring offtake agreements through public tenders and private agreements with 3rd parties (electricity and renewable energy credits).

  • Planning, designing, constructing, and maintaining infrastructure for solar, wind, hydroelectric, and storage systems. This includes feasibility studies, equipment designs, grid connections, project management, contractor selection, construction management, commissioning, and optimization.

  • We have integrated assets into energy markets and operations, optimized performance, maintenance, and managed all business aspects of renewable energy assets. This includes contract management, leading community funding initiatives, revenue settlement, budgets, stakeholder relations and renewable energy credit verification and trading.

  • The team has acquired and merged several assets and companies throughout their careers. This includes leading due diligence, red flag analysis, valuations and closing of deals.
